Partial clothing issue Heya! I only have partial suits and I've run into a slight issue - I have a lovely outfit I've bought for my partial Shirik only the front is cut slightly too low and the neckflap doesn't tuck in properly. It DOES cover the fur but the outfit has a tendancy to slide down slightly and expose skin. Now, to prevent this I have thought of two options: Option 1: Use a similar coloured fur and attach a piece using snaps in order to extend it temporarily. Preferred method as I intend to have a bodysuit commissioned and don't really want to have to deal with removing snaps from the front of the mask. Option 2: add snaps to the inside of the costume and the outside of the neck flap, connect together to make a "seal" between the two pieces of fabric so the dress stays up and the neckfur doesn't ride up too high. Which option do you think would be better? Also, any other suggestions are more than welcome! I have tried simply wearing a tshirt under it to try and just show black fabric underneath (the dress is black and purple) but it just didn;'t look right :\ the fur is literally just a few inches too short so if I added a few inches of a similar coloured fur it wouldn't really be too noticeable, plus I happen to have a long-pile tan colour to hand that I could use. o/~ Yesterday, I went in to a placement agency, and found myself taking all manner of tests. My typing speed is up, just from a few weeks ago (now at 47wpm) and I finally took a 10key test, though I don't know if my score (1971spm) was any good or not. I managed to get 70% on both filing and dictation, and a whopping 98% (no real surprise there, considering my major, the first time through college) on spelling. But when it came to talking with them about what any limitations were, or where I thought I might like to work... as well as past employment... I found them really hard to determine whether or not my answers were helping pigeonhole me for employment in something that's currently available or not. It's a bit disconcerting when I go in for placement, and they tell me that they'll be looking around for something that will meet my qualifications and then point out that I should really work with their (or several) temp agencies to gain more experience in the field. What's wrong with the four years I've had in office work, already? Does it not count because I wasn't called by a particular title in my workplace, but was referred to as another title instead? I guess I just don't get businesses, these days, and how they operate. On another note, I'm rummaging through storage boxes, and finding all manner of old treasures! Local Fashionz or Keithlicious Ive been meaning to post this for some time. Chuck and I were invited to go see Project Runway at a party with a group of friends. We love the show. Anyway, turns out one of the 'designers' on project runway is a local ( Keith Bryce..kinda woofy ) and he was the guest host of the party! :) Chuck and I had spent the afternoon reading the bios and trying to find a designer we could 'get behind'. The funny thing is, keith has played in the football league the last two years and I didnt even recognize him until we met at the party, then it all sorta clicked and came together :) Anyway, so now we have someone to root/cheer for during Season 5 of PR. GO KEITH!!! ( Also, I expect ya'll to root for him too! He IZ the hottest one on the show after all. )

started working again on my polarbear after 2 years in storage I am finally (hopefully) going to finish my polar bear. BUT, I need some ideas. I was thinking of adding some sore of clothing/leather to the outfit to ware on the suit. I was thinking of some sort of cross between Native American/mid evil type outfit. I started making some jewelery (earring) & am working on a mock up of some type of leather armor'ish type helm/headdress. & now I'm out of ideas & not sure what type of material to use that is leather like & not expensive. here is what i have so far Tundra now, do you see him more with a staff or sward? or would ether work? I have both. the sward I have is a replica of the original Conan the barbarian's & the staff i have is around 6' with leather wrapped grip with tassels of leather. any & all ideas welcome. I was hoping to debut him this October if I can get my tail in gear :P Oh! Also, any thoughts on lining for the body? I may add in some body foam to bulk out a few spots so I'm sure I will need to line the inside. I just do not know what material would make the best lining. Thanks! |

Now, because of the circumstances, funeral arrangements have incurred additional expenses. Weight loss Yeah, it's wednesday, so I checked my weight again. I'm down to 121.7, which is a slight loss compared to last week; I also checked my body fat percentage etc. again, using my other scales (which gave a figure of 116.6 for my weight this time, but as usual, that should probably be disregarded), and got 28.7% body fat (-1.3 percentage points), 52.2% body water (+1.3 percentage points) and 38.0% muscle mass (+0.3 percentage points). Strange that the loss in body fat is exactly the gain in body water again, although I'm still not sure how much these numbers can be trusted, anyway. Current Mood:  awake |
